PhantomVPN Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 5, 2026

The PhantomVPN application is provided and distributed free of charge by the developer of PhantomVPN. The App is provided "as is" without any express or implied warranty.

This Privacy Policy explains what data may be collected when you use the PhantomVPN application, how that data is used, and under what circumstances it may be provided to third parties. By using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

We strive to minimize the amount of data collected and use only the information necessary to operate the service, display ads, deliver configuration, diagnose errors, and improve the user experience.

Information Collection and Use

The PhantomVPN application itself does not require you to create an account or provide personal data such as your name, email address, phone number, or physical address.

To provide VPN connectivity, the App processes necessary connection status and usage information on your device, such as:

The above in-app state is mainly stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the App usually removes this local data.

We do not log, collect, or store the contents of your internet traffic, including websites you visit, files you download, messages you send, search content, DNS queries, or specific browsing history. We also do not maintain logs that associate specific internet activity with a specific user or device.

Third-Party Services

The App may use third-party services that may collect technical information for advertising, configuration delivery, error diagnosis, fraud prevention, service operation, or ensuring that the App functions properly.

Third-party services used by the App include:

These third-party services may process device and app technical information according to their own privacy policies, such as IP address, Advertising ID, Firebase app instance identifiers, device model, operating system version, app version, configuration fetch status, ad interaction information, and diagnostic information.

For more information about how Google and Firebase services process data, please refer to the Google Privacy Policy.

Advertising

The App uses Google AdMob and its advertising partners to display ads. For this purpose, AdMob may automatically collect the device IP address, Advertising ID, device and app technical information, ad impressions, and ad interaction information.

This data is used to select and display ads, limit ad frequency, measure advertising campaign performance, prevent fraud and abuse, and maintain the security of advertising services.

We do not use VPN functionality to manipulate, replace, intercept, or redirect advertising traffic from other applications. Ad requests are made through the official AdMob SDK.

VPN Service and Traffic Handling

The App uses Android VpnService to create a VPN tunnel. While the VPN is connected, your device network traffic may be routed through VPN servers provided or configured by us and may exit the internet from the selected server location.

Traffic routed through the VPN is encrypted from your device to the VPN tunnel endpoint. Due to the technical nature of VPN services, servers need to temporarily process network connections to forward traffic, but we do not store the specific content you access or create personally identifiable browsing logs.

Log Data

When a technical error, connection failure, or service exception occurs, the App or third-party tools may automatically collect diagnostic data, such as device IP address, device identifiers, operating system version, app version, app configuration, date and time of use, connection error type, and other technical details.

This data is used only to analyze issues, troubleshoot failures, maintain service stability, and improve the App experience.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

The PhantomVPN application itself does not use web cookies. Built-in third-party SDKs or system components may use Advertising ID, Firebase app instance identifiers, or similar technologies to provide advertising, configuration delivery, diagnostics, and security functions.

You can reset or limit the Advertising ID in Android system settings. The specific options may vary depending on your device model, operating system version, and Google Play Services version.

Data Provided to Third Parties

We may engage third-party service providers to support app operation, advertising, configuration delivery, usage analysis, troubleshooting, or technical infrastructure. Such service providers may access only the information necessary to perform their functions and must process related data according to their terms of service and privacy policies.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

We may disclose necessary information when legally required or in the following circumstances:

Data Retention and Deletion

Data stored locally on your device is usually removed when you uninstall the App. You may also clear app data through Android system settings.

Data processed by Google AdMob, Firebase Remote Config, Firebase Installations, or Google Play Services is subject to Google's applicable retention and deletion policies.

Because the App does not require account creation, we generally cannot identify a specific user through an account. If you need to ask questions or request deletion of data related to you, please contact us using the contact information at the end of this Policy.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including Android app sandboxing, local data isolation, disabling verbose debug logs in production, and transmitting related service requests through HTTPS/TLS connections provided by third-party SDKs.

However, no method of data transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be absolutely secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that information will be completely secure in all circumstances.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

If you become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us, and we will take reasonable steps to delete the relevant information after becoming aware of it.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates take effect when a new version is posted on this page.

If material changes are made to this Privacy Policy, we may provide notice in the App or by updating this page. We recommend that you review this page periodically for the latest information.
